Adoption & Surrogacy

We understand that families grow in a variety of ways.

To assist employees with building their family through adoption or surrogacy, Snowflake provides help with covering the costs.

Reimbursement Program

Employees may be eligible for reimbursement of qualified expenses up to $10,000 per adoption or surrogacy.  Employees may use this benefit up to a lifetime maximum of two times. For more detailed information on this reimbursement program, please refer to the Snowflake US Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement Policy.

Once the adoption or surrogacy is finalized, you may apply for reimbursement. Requests for reimbursement should be submitted to Snowflake within six months of the finalization of adoption or surrogacy.

Apply for Reimbursement

Here are the steps to take for reimbursement:

  1. Collect all eligible receipts
  2. Complete the reimbursement request form
  3. Open an adoption/surrogacy reimbursement case on The Lift. Attach your receipts and completed form (from step 2), and submit for review to the HR Benefits Team.

Eligible Expenses

Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to:

  • Legal and court fees
  • Adoption agency fees
  • Surrogacy agency fees
  • Fees associated with egg donation and/or sperm donation
  • Travel expenses

Remember! Add your new member of the family to your coverage.

At the time of placement or birth, you may add your new child to your Snowflake benefit plans. You must make your enrollment updates within 31 days of the qualifying life event (adoption or birth).

Contact your Benefit Advocate at (925) 378-6485 if you need help or more information on how to make your election changes.
