Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

September is dedicated to raising awareness about Prostate Cancer. According to the CDC, Prostate Cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in men, affecting approximately 13 out of every 100 men in the US. Although it may not show early symptoms, effective screening options are available to catch the disease before it spreads. Survival rates for prostate cancer are good when it is detected early.

Everyone should establish a relationship with a primary care physician (PCP), such as a Family Care Practitioner or Internal Medicine Specialist. Obtaining your annual physical exam with your PCP is crucial to receiving all the necessary screenings and tests that help catch any medical issues early on. For our  Cigna and Kaiser (CA only) medical plan participants, annual physical exams, and related lab work are covered in full.

If you do not have a PCP, you can search here for Cigna members and here for Kaiser members.
