Caregiving & Family Support

Family

Caring for a child, supporting an aging family member, or your family can bring both rewarding moments and additional responsibilities. Because caregiving needs can change unexpectedly, having resources available can make a meaningful difference.

Snowflake offers benefits to help you manage everyday caregiving needs, plan ahead, and find support when circumstances change. This month, we’re highlighting a few of those to help you care for the people who matter to you—while supporting your own well-being, too.

Find Care When You Need It

Whether you need help during a school closure, support for an older family member, or backup when your regular care arrangements change, Care.com can help.

Through Care.com, Snowflakes can access resources for childcare, senior care, pet care, and help around the home. You can also explore backup care options for those times when schedules shift or your usual arrangements fall through. All Snowflakes are eligible for emergency backup care. Backup care is limited to 10 days per employee per year—that is, 10 days total, including all child, adult, and pet care, not 10 days for each type of care.

Knowing where to turn for extra support can help make unexpected caregiving challenges a little easier to manage.

Support Throughout YourJourney

Every family’s journey is different. Maven offers personalized support throughout pregnancy, parenthood, menopause, and other stages of growing your family.

Through Maven, you can connect virtually with experienced providers and access clinically informed resources and guidance. Whether you’re preparing for pregnancy, welcoming a new child, adjusting to parenthood, or seeking support as your family grows, Maven can help you navigate questions and decisions with greater confidence. Maven is provided to all Snowflakes, at no cost.

Make Caregiving Dollars Go Further

A Dependent Care FSA can help you save on eligible caregiving expenses by allowing you to set aside pre-tax dollars while you and your spouse, if applicable, work or look for work.

Eligible expenses may include:

● Childcare or daycare

● Before- and after-school programs

● Summer day camps

● Care for an eligible adult dependent

Using pre-tax funds can help stretch your paycheck while covering necessary care. Be sure to review eligibility requirements, keep your receipts, and monitor your balance throughout the year. Unlike an HSA, unused Dependent Care FSA funds are generally forfeited at the end of the plan year.

Remember to Care for Yourself, Too

When you’re focused on supporting others, it can be easy to put your own wellbeing further down the list. Snowflake’s family and caregiving benefits are designed to make everyday responsibilities more manageable and help you find support when you need it.

This month, take a few minutes to explore the resources available through Care.com and Maven, and review how your Dependent Care FSA may help with eligible expenses.

The right resources can help you feel more prepared, supported, and balanced—both at home and at work.
